Tested: Why TWT towels dry 3x faster

Towels dry faster when air can circulate freely around the fabric. To measure that effect, we compared three hanging methods under the same conditions:

  • Freely hanging with the TWT system
  • Folded over a towel rail
  • Hanging from a hook

The room humidity was kept as constant as possible, and all towels were positioned at equal distances.

Measured in two ways

We monitored the drying process using:

  • A digital moisture meter
  • Weight measurements

Because water loss reduces both moisture readings and towel weight, the two methods provided an independent check of the results.

Results

All towels started at approximately 27% measured moisture.

After 7.5 hours:

  • TWT, freely hanging: 12%
  • Folded over a rail: 22%
  • Hanging from a hook: 24%

The measured time until cupboard-dry was:

Hanging method Drying time Completely dry
TWT, freely hanging 7.5 hours
Folded over a rail 19.5 hours
Hanging from a hook 27 hours

Compared with the towel on a hook:

27÷7.5=3.6

The TWT towel therefore dried 3.6 times as fast, with a 72% shorter drying time.

Compared with the folded towel:

19.5÷7.5=2.6

The TWT towel dried 2.6 times as fast, with a 62% shorter drying time.

Across both conventional hanging methods, the clear conclusion is:

TWT towels dry approximately 3x as fast.

The reason is simple: when a towel hangs fully free, both sides remain exposed to the air. Less trapped moisture means faster evaporation.

As with any good experiment, the results can be reproduced, but once you use the product, you will quickly experience the difference for yourself.
